Community First is an £80 Million Government Funded initiative managed by the Community Development Foundation(CDF) supporting communities to come together to identify their local priorities, plan for the future, and develop grassroots activity.
The programme aims to:
- Support local projects that improve the quality of life for local people
- Help revitalise existing groups, and help to kick start new ones
- Enable local people to take ownership over opportunities and resources, as well as tackle problems
Weoley has been allocated a total of £33,910 over the next 3 and a bit years – managed as a 4 year programme. Year 1 was due to end on March 31st 2012, but has been extended to June 2012, to enable panels to effectively allocate resources at the beginning of the programme. The funding for Weoley over the 4 years is as follows:

- Year 3 – £8,488
- Year 4 – £11,309
